Everything you need to know about The Ride.
You certainly can! If you do not self-donate $35 when you register but do raise $250 or more on or before before March 31, 2021, 11:59 PM ET, we will include your name on the monument AND you will receive a 2021 commemorative Ride long sleeved t-shirt.
The Ride is inclusive and welcomes everyone to participate. If you have a disability that prevents you from riding your own bike, there are many ways to participate in The Ride and we have a number of para-athlete hand cyclists who take part each year. When the event is run in its physical, non-socially distanced format, we provide accessible facilities and other support. Visually impaired cyclists participate using tandem bikes with a personal ‘pilot’ or guide. Please note, the guide is not required to raise funds to participate.
We are often asked whether it is acceptable to participate in the event on e-bikes. E-bikes, especially for long distance rides, can help make the event more enjoyable for people who need the assist or simply choose to “ride their own way.” All bike types are welcome! Finally, for hand bikes or bikes low to the ground, we encourage the use of orange flags affixed to the bikes to be clearly visible to other riders or road users.
