Important information regarding the Toronto Ride Start Line:
New in 2024, there will be 3 corral start options and all Riders will be asked to self-seed based on your known riding speed or your preferred pace over the first 20 kms of The Ride.
The corrals will be marked as:
• Hammer & Experienced Riders Corral – for all Hammer Route Riders, and those looking to ride at a pace of 28km/h +
• Steady Pace Corral - for those who wish to ride at a steady pace of anywhere between 22-28km/hour. This wave will go out a few minutes after the Hammer Riders.
• Social Pace Corral - for those Riders who wish to ride at a social or slower pace or Riders unsure of their average speed. This wave will go out a few minutes after the Steady Pace Riders.
The corrals will be marked at the start area and there will be further instruction provided onsite. In addition, there will be team gathering areas by the TO Start where you can plan to meet your team at areas A to G, each marked by 12ft feather flags. We understand that many Riders will want to ride with their team and that there will be various paces and riding abilities across team members. We encourage you to select the corral that best suits your personal pace and/or have your team defer to the slower riders in your group. You can plan to meet up with the rest of your team at one of the pit stop locations.
Sunday Route Info:
Safely moving thousands of Riders through three cities presents its own challenges, due to variables outside of our control, the Day 2 route will be 121km.
We recognize this is longer than expected and will add some time to your Ride. If you can, leave early on Sunday morning and take advantage of all pit stops along the way. There will be lots of additional support on the route, including sweep vehicles and a shuttle. -

The most important thing to remember is that it’s a ride, not a race. Slow equals safe. Please take a moment to watch our safety video
-
Safety Do's
- Helmet is mandatory
- Riders are responsible for following all rules of the road (including obeying traffic signals and signs)
- Ride predictably, avoid weaving in and out
- Use hand signals to indicate turns and stops
- Call out when possible, ex. “On your left!” or “Stopping!”
- Cycle with traffic, never against
- Keep an eye out for drivers in parked cars
- Leave extra room for other Riders and leave drafting to the pros
-
Event Safety Communication
The Event Alert System (EAS) will be used to communicate the status of course conditions to participants, volunteers and spectators during the event days. All Riders should familiarize themselves with the system’s colour indicators and remain alert for directions from event staff, announcers, and volunteer leaders, as well as take precautions to prepare properly for varying conditions on event day. Look for EAS communication at the start/finish lines, pit stops on route and via email/text communications.
In an emergency, Riders should be prepared to follow instructions from volunteer leaders, event staff and public safety officials. Also, keep an eye on your phone for emergency updates.

Alcohol at Camp
At the main bar at Camp (#7 on this map), we will be enforcing a 3 alcoholic drink per Rider limit and serving staff will be tracking consumption by marking Rider wrist bands. We as a cancer charity have an obligation to ensure the health and safety of our Ridership, and support of the latest alcohol consumption guidelines. We would ask that you please share this information with your team, to ensure there are no surprises on-event.
